Conditions:
Day 1: Homeport to Chatham Islands via Christchurch
After a home pick up by shuttle you will fly to Christchurch where we will connect with our flight out to the Chatham Islands. We will be transferred to our Hotel for the entire week, Hotel Chathams, to enjoy a fantastic meal and local hospitality
Day 2: The East
After Breakfast, we join our guide for the day and head to Owenga, a local fishing village with its own working fish factory. We will visit the statue of Tommy Solomon, the last known full blooded Moriori and the Kopinga Marae. Today’s other attractions include the Rangaiki Cliffs with their 250m sheer drop and also the Art studio of renowned local artist Eva Cherie Tuck. We will have great views across Lake Huro and Te Whanga Lagoon today also.

Day 3: The Northeast
Today we have breakfast and then head to Kaingaroa township in the Northeast. There is a small fishing fleet based here and we will also visit monuments commemorating the first contact between the British and Moriori in 1791. We visit ocean mail Beach scenic reserve and have the option of a wetland walk here.
We then visit the stunning Muirson Family farm and the Port Munning fur seal colony finishing the day at Mission Bay which houses the remains of German missionaries and Amercian Sealers from the 1700s

Day 4: The West
Following breakfast we head west today and see the extensive farmlands, ferns and volcanic cones that make up this part of the Chathams. Today we also visit the Stone Cottage, unique in using burnt pipi shells as the mortar to hold it together.
We also visit the famous Ohira Bay Basalt Columns

Day 5: Day at your leisure (with optional extras)
Following your breakfast, you have several options today. You can either have a break or take the option of a day trip to Pitt Island($400.00pp) or a fishing charter ($195.00pp) or perhaps a scenic flight($750.00 which can be spread amongst up to 5 people) but a relaxing day is in store today to enjoy this unique part of New Zealand

Day 6: The South
Following Breakfast, we head South along Tuku Road which provides further views of farmlands and coastal waters. We will have a tour of the Stunning Tuku Reserve which has the Parea and also the Chatham Island wood pigeon amongst its extensive birdlife.

Day 7: The best of the rest
Following breakfast, we will cover off some of the other parts of the Island with some highlights being Nunucku’s Rock Carvings, the Admiral Gardens and a fossick for sharks teeth during a visit to Blind Jims and Nikau Reserve. We will also endeavour to cover items which may have been missed in earlier days. You will have the option today of doing another of the optional day activities from the day off if there were a couple of things you wanted to do.

Day 8: Home
Unfortunately, this morning is time to wave goodbye to the Chatham Islands. Following our flight back to Christchurch you will be transferred home
